We are busy putting the final touches to our preparation for this concert, and as part of this were privileged to spend Sunday afternoon in a workshop with Charles Beale, learning more about the jazz harmonies implicit in Fauré's Requiem, and the way in which the instrumentalists comment on the original composition.

We also spent time recapping the basics of jazz performance, tapping into our sense of rhythm, harmony and improvisation, and we are looking forward to bringing these to our interpretations of jazz standards tomorrow.
