Enjoy our secred and secular mix of music on Sunday 5 July
Book your ticket now to reserve your place
We can't wait to welcome you to our summer concert this coming Sunday. There really is something for everyone in our programme: book now to benefit from our early bird rate. Please note the earlier start time of 4.30pm.
Our first half is a selection of sacred music from William Byrd's Ave Verum Corpus through to contemporary composers Arvo Pärt (The Deer's Cry) and Bob Chilcott (My Prayer). After the interval, we'll then move on to a programme of secular music, from sixteenth century madrigals through to folk songs and spirituals.
This being a summer concert, we want it to be a more relaxed experience than our more formal performances, and so we invite you to bring a picnic to enjoy in the interval. We also hope that the weather will allow us to perform our second half outside (the forecast is looking good at this point, and decidedly less uncomfortable than the last few days!).
As you may recall, we recently went on tour to Croatia where we gave three concerts in Poreč, Grožnjan and Vrsar. This was an unforgettable trip: we received such a warm welcome, and enjoyed enthusiastic and appreciative audiences for all of our concerts. We will share some of the repertoire we performed there next weekend - a particular highlight being La Mula De Parenzo ('The Girl from Poreč') which our Croatian friends sang along to with great gusto.
